About the Artist

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he/she grows up.” – Pablo Picasso

I am an artist and lover of nature and all creatures great and small. My passion for drawing and painting began at an early age and after graduating from Berkshire College of Art and Design, I pursued a 30 year career in creative design. Having retired from the corporate world, I embarked on a new venture and opened my art studio at home where I enjoy creating original commissioned artworks as well as self-inspired works for sale on my website. The inspirations for my paintings come from my love of animals, gardening and rambling throughout the English countryside. I love experimenting with multiple mediums including watercolour, oils and acrylics; often combining mediums to create more depth and vibrancy to my compositions. Painting for me is all about capturing the natural beauty of life which surrounds us everywhere, everyday. If we blink we might miss it, but when we capture it on canvas we can stop, ponder and soak it in. My compositions evolve organically as I paint many stages and add several layers to bring my paintings to life. As an artist, sometimes it’s hard to put the paint brush down and say “It’s finished “, but I abide by these wise words, “A painting is never finished – it simply stops in interesting places”.

My art studio is located in the village of Ecchinswell, nestled in the heart of Watership Down, best known as the setting for Richard Adams’ novel titled “Watership Down”.  My husband, 2 dogs; Jazz and Joey, and 3 cats; Eddie (Ed Sheeran), Aspen and Flint are my biggest fans and give me the inspiration to paint every day.

I hope you enjoy browsing through my website and I look forward to welcoming you to my art studio. If you are interested in any of my artworks for sale or would like to commission a painting, please contact me.
